Bohemian F.C. is one of the oldest clubs in the Republic of Ireland, having been formed in 1890. ‘The Gypsies’ were one of the clubs who helped establish the league back in 1921 and they have competed in the competition every season since.
The club retained amateur status until the 1960s and ever since turning semi-professional, and later fully professional, they have been one of Ireland’s leading clubs.
The club was particularly successful at the turn of the century, managing to win the league title in the 2000-01 and 2002-03 seasons. 2008 saw the club claim the Premier Division and FAI Ford Cup double.
Amongst the most popular players to have worn the red and black of Bohs are Jackie Jameson, Kevin Hunt and Irish international Glen Crowe.
