Heary hails Carey's contribution PDF Print E-mail

Bohemians skipper Owen Heary has hailed the contribution of on-loan winger Graham Carey and has said that he hopes the Under-21 international will stay with the club until the end of the season.

Carey is on-loan at Bohemians from Celtic and has impressed greatly over recent weeks, most recently when he scored twice in the Gypsies 4-3 victory over Shelbourne in the EA SPORTS Cup. Although his loan is due to end in July, Heary is hopeful that the the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international will stay until at least the end of the season.

"Graham is an exceptional player for his age," said Heary. "He has shown good maturity and his work-rate is excellent. He wants to impress. He wants to get back across to Celtic, you can see that in him.

"We'd love to keep him here until the end of the season anyway. You can see he is a good talent. He is direct and his crossing is unbelievable. Many outside-lefts float balls in but he whips them in with power and pace, and he is very direct at the full-backs."

Bohemians travel to the Brandywell Stadium this Friday (May 8th) to face Derry City.
