The Setanta Sports Cup is a cross-border competition involving clubs from the Airtricity League and the Northern Irish Carling Premiership.

Established in 2005, the competition has grown to become an integral part of the football calendar on both sides of the border.

Linfield claimed the trophy in 2005, with Drogheda United winning the competition in both 2006 and 2007. Cork City put their name on the Setanta Sports Cup trophy when they defeated Glentoran in the 2008 final.

The 2009/10 Setanta Sports Cup kicked off in August and will run until May 2010.
